Privacy Policy

Who this policy covers
AltusPath LLC ("AltusPath", "we", "us") provides RVi and HI, inspection software, and the websites that describe them. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
There are two kinds of information, and our role is different for each:
- Your account information — about you and the people you add to your account. We decide how this is used, as described below.
- Your customers' information — the names, contact details, addresses, photographs and findings you enter about the people and vehicles you inspect. You decide what is entered and why; we store and process it on your behalf, only to provide the service. If you are an inspector's customer and want to see or remove your information, please contact the inspection business first, because they control it.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number, business details and the sign-in information you create. Passwords are stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form.
- Security information: sign-in activity with IP addresses and times, devices you mark as trusted, and the one-time codes we email you when you sign in.
- What you enter: customers, inspections (answers, notes, photographs), reports, contracts and the name, email address, IP address and time of anyone who signs one, invoices, payments recorded against invoices, expenses and receipts, appointments and calendar information, and your team members.
- Payments: subscription payments and online invoice payments are handled by Stripe. We receive identifiers, amounts and status from Stripe, never full card numbers.
- Messages: a log of the emails RVi sends for you (recipient, subject, status) and of your support and feedback submissions.
- Websites: our marketing websites use Google Analytics, which uses cookies to count visits and see which pages are used. Webinar registration collects your name and email address.
- Technical records: operational and audit logs, including IP addresses, kept to keep the service secure and working.
How we use it
- To provide and support the service, including sending the invoices, reports, contracts and reminders you ask us to send.
- To bill your subscription and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To keep the service secure, diagnose problems and improve it.
- To contact you about your account and about changes to the service.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your customers' information for advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run RVi, and only what they need:
- Stripe for payments.
- Mailjet to deliver email.
- Our cloud hosting provider (Akamai) to run the application, the database and file storage.
- Google for analytics on our marketing websites.
The report, invoice and contract links you send to your customers are visible to anyone who has the link, so share them only with the intended recipient. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the service. If AltusPath is involved in a merger or sale, information may transfer to the new owner under the same commitments.
How long we keep it
- While your account is open: we keep your information so the service works. Items you delete are moved to Deleted Items, where you can restore them, and are permanently removed after 90 days.
- When you close your account: the account keeps working until the end of the period you have paid for. It is then locked, and the links you shared with customers stop working. For 90 days you can sign in, download a copy of your data and reopen the account. After that, everything is permanently erased: your businesses, customers, inspections and photographs, reports, invoices, expenses, appointments, message logs, and the sign-ins of team members who work only in your account. This cannot be undone.
- What we keep after erasure: a record that the account was closed (its dates, any reason you gave, and an irreversible fingerprint of your email address); a de-identified list of charges, credits and payments — amounts, dates and payment reference numbers, with no names, contact details or customer information — for 7 years for tax and audit purposes; and what Stripe and our other providers keep under their own policies and legal obligations.
- Backups: erased information can remain in our routine backups until those backups expire and are overwritten.
- Operational logs are kept for a limited time and then deleted.
Your choices
- See and correct your account details on the Account page.
- Download your data: the account owner can download a ZIP of customers, inspections, invoices, expenses, appointments and published reports from the Account page at any time, including after closing the account and before erasure.
- Close and erase your account yourself from the Account page, as described above.
- Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser; our websites work without them.
- Ask us: email hello@altuspath.com to ask about, correct or delete your information. Depending on where you live you may have further rights over your personal information, and we will honor them as the law requires.
Security
We protect information with measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access controls, and email verification codes at sign-in. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away at hello@altuspath.com if you suspect your account has been accessed without permission.
Children
RVi and HI are business software and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
When we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and, for changes that affect how your information is handled, tell account owners by email or in the app.
